Jake Gyllenhaal 'beats The Living S' Out Of Baddies In First Road House Trailer
When the road is in danger, it's time to call in a handsome man with leadership qualities who can also beat this man by keeping his hair clean .
Patrick Swayze, God rest his soul, first accepted the call in 1989, and this year it's Jake Gyllenhaal's turn. A slightly tougher set of siblings than Gyllenhaal (like Wu-Tang, There's Nothing About... Maggie) stars as ex-UFC fighter Dalton, who takes a job as a bouncer in the Florida Keys, just to discovered that Heaven is anything but what it seems.
One character describes Dalton as a true Mr. Rogers type... when Mr. Rogers "beats you to death." But despite the number of scenes with a ripped shirtless Dalton, you might still want to be his neighbor.
Directed by Doug Lyman ( The Bourne Identity, Mr. & Mrs. Smith ), Home on the Road is a reimagining of the '80s cult classic, in which Swayze plays another wild boy named Dalton, who will stop at nothing. even if it rips out your throat. Dude, kill him. Jasper, Missouri, double defense.
Lehman moves the action to the Keys, a land of bad manners and countless Florida men, with a cast that includes Downsizing 's Jessica Williams, White Lotus' Lucas Gage, Broad City 's Arturo Castro and a real UFC fighter, Conor McGregor. His first film.
Gyllenhaal's Dalton seems to have met a worthy match with McGregor, who brings his own unique style to the role - the image of the young actor walking away from the explosion in a quilted jacket and no pants looks like Conor McGregor in spades .
Road House premieres March 21 on Prime Video. Watch the trailer above.
