LOS ANGELES, Nov. 6 (UPI) -- "Your Lucky Day," in theaters Friday, is a thriller with a clever plot. The film reveals the complexity of a hostage situation that can change at will.

On December 23, 2017, the winning Sip n Go lottery ticket will be sold to George Laird (Spencer Garrett). Desperate drug dealer Sterling (Angus Cloud) tries to steal the tickets, leading to a conflict that no one can easily avoid.

Store policeman Cody (Sterling Beaumont) shoots Sterling, killing Laird and shooting Sterling. Store owner Amir (Musa Hussain Krish) and pregnant couple Ana Marlene (Jessica Garza) and Abraham (Elliot Knight) are taken hostage.

Lottery tickets will make your lucky day different from the usual hostage drama. This amount adds to the challenges facing the hostages and the complications facing Sterling, who must now find a way to combat traffic ticket violence.

The three hostages try to survive together. They agree to a few of Sterling's demands to get his share of the money, but mostly to escape alive. He could kill them all if they resisted.

Sterling represents a no-nonsense type of desperate criminal. He's not a criminal, but he has a gun, so everyone tries to take him down.

Anna had a very smart mind to deal with the situation. Additionally, the entire team had to keep employees and researchers away from the store.

Abraham is forced to leave Anna at the store while he covers Cody's tracks. This puts Abraham in British patience , where getting back to the shop is more important than the hurdles.

The intervention of other parties complicates the situation even more. It ultimately ends in a fight rather than a clever plan, but the film keeps the situation tense until it is resolved.

Writer-director Dan Brown, not a character in The Da Vinci Code, makes a statement about consumerism at the film's opening. Many advertisements for free side dishes and Christmas gifts interfered with Sterling's drug sales.

Amir talks about his wife Winmueng. Laird is a typical lazy businessman who thinks he can get out of any situation. Laird was the first to learn the hard way that he couldn't do it.

After all, the bottom line is that simply making money causes damages that are out of proportion to the amount of money. Your Lucky Day includes enough twists on the hostage drama formula to keep you engaged until the end.
