Traders , 2022

Directed by Corey Stanton.
Actors: Kimberly Su-Murray, Sean Benson, Stephen Bogart

Summary:

When a mysterious sociopath discovers a passion for stock trading, he begins destroying the financial world from his basement apartment.

The world of high-risk insider trading is convincingly portrayed in Corey Stanton's seminal novel The Psychological Trader .

With the tense and volatile drama of the stock market, the film emphasizes the blind pursuit of profit above all else. The damage this ruthless and unbridled enterprise causes to people and society as a whole is creatively presented in some fantastic landscapes.

Kimberly-Sue Murray is excellent as the mysterious boss (who is believed to be a businessman) reacting to a series of ghostly conversations with other people in the financial world.

Most notable among them is the mercurial Bob Broker (Sean Benson), who serves as a gateway to the conspiracy dungeons of Big Pharma and the dark world of stocks. The store owner is the only character on screen, and Murray shines, showing everything from anger to lost confusion.

In fact, the story is a nightmarish journey through adrenaline and paranoia as a wasabi-smelling businessman plunges into the dark world of online gaming. Thanks to Stanton's sharp writing, Murray shines in the title role, deftly and poignantly conveying the complexities of art's total collapse and revenge attack.

Focusing on the leader's mission to find out how far the top guys can go, the film shows how tirelessly they work to master the game. As they become more involved in shady deals in securities, stocks and pharmaceuticals, they uncover industry secrets and see the dark arts in action to increase their odds.

As any experienced player knows, "the house always wins", but the dealer does not limit this truth to his limits. The results of this knowledge are incredibly revealing, and the compelling film perfectly captures the hidden curiosity and fear of danger.
In this situation, the fate of the family faces the worst consequences of a dangerous pharmaceutical product. Unethical traders seem to see their business as a battle cry and a battle for a supposed superior good.

The Trader is an explosion of financial horror, enhanced by Murray's excellent performance. It's a stunningly elegant room, and the sheer claustrophobia of the apartment works well as a metaphor for society's profound ignorance of big pharma. The merchant, skillfully armed with truth, offers the opportunity for enlightenment and release.
