MOVIE REVIEW: We Chase Down Netflix's Unfluffy Horror 'Run Rabbit Run'

Veteran television director Dina Reid directs for her second feature film and her debut from 2010's I Love You Too .

Written by aspiring author Hannah Kent, "Run Bunny Run" sees Reid as Sarah Snook's fertility doctor forced to question her own values when her daughter Mia (Lily Latourre) starts behaving very strangely.

Mia, who usually wears a scary bunny mask, is the film's central mystery when she starts referring to herself as "Alice" and physically and verbally abuses her mother.

Focusing on sadness, tragedy, guilt and repressed memories, Run Brown Run is not for the faint of heart.

This is reflected in Reid's decision to shoot with a dark color palette, enhancing the mood of his thought-provoking film.

The acting is top notch. Legacy's Snook is an emotional mess, but one can't help but think he's hiding something that keeps the public from giving him full sympathy.

Making her film debut, Latorre is simply beautiful, portraying innocence or a dark nature.

The conflict between Sarah and Maya is very tense and not even love can free them from the secret conflict in which they find themselves.

The film follows a similar path to The Babadook and Hole in the Ground, but without the supernatural presence found in these classic horror films.

Run Rabbit Run is extremely violent, even in its violent and thought-provoking finale, making it difficult to watch and making the fights between its partners feel tense and uncomfortable.

But there's a lot to like about Reed's Trials, so get ready for heartbreak and tribulations as it makes for a great introduction to the world of film.
