5 Adventure Movies To Watch Before Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny
Indy returns for his fifth and final adventure in Indiana Jones and the Gathering of Fates . This time, Indy must track down a mysterious clock that he believes could change the course of humanity. Harrison Ford's cast includes Antonio Banderas and Phoebe Waller-Bridge, whose performances at the film's Cannes premiere received high praise.

In keeping with the jungle tracking and treasure hunting themes of Indies, 1995's Congo is perfect for anyone looking for a little adventure with a big dose of madness. Although the basic premise of the film is that a team searches for rare diamonds in the jungles of the Congo, the real meaning is that these diamonds are located in a volcano inhabited by giant, aggressive albino gorillas. The film also features a friendly gorilla named Amy, who knows sign language and has a special bracelet that allows her to speak.

The Rundown is a solid adventure film and Seann William Scott does a very good job in the film and is not the annoying jerk he often portrays during this period. Also, no one could play a worse villain than Christopher Walken (who stole practically all of his scenes).
Another really interesting thing about The Rundown is that it came out at a time when the jungle adventure genre basically didn't exist. Released between Anaconda (1997) and Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull (2008), The Rundown revived a genre that seemed to have died out during the decade, setting it apart from other action films of the 2000s.
Uncharted (2022)
Unsurprisingly, Uncharted is a great movie for indie fans since the game it's based on was directly inspired by Indiana Jones and the Tomb Raider . What's surprising, though, is that, unlike most video games, Uncharted was actually good. Starring Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg, the film (and games) follows an adventurer in search of hidden treasure and his long-lost brother.
From mysterious caves to plane sequences to a massive battle between two pirate ships, both suspended in the air and transported by helicopter, Uncharted truly feels like a wild ride and an Indiana Jones adventure for modern times. Holland's excellent performance in the film also really helped give Uncharted a dose of character and heart.
Speaking to Digital Trends ahead of the film's premiere, director Ruben Fleischer said that Holland was already a big fan of the game, which made the character of Nathan Drake authentic. The director said: “Having Tom Holland on set was very helpful as he is a huge fan of the game himself. If he found a piece of paper there, he would probably return it as Nathan Drake. Fleischer added, "It's a little thing that I didn't even think about, but a big thing, as a fan of the game, he wanted to make sure that every moment felt like an undiscovered moment."
