Movie Review/Fast X
As the 10th installment (not a spin-off) of the Fast franchise, Fast X has some obligations to its fans. It needs to up its game compared to all previous chapters. There should be so much development that the series will never be the same again. A nice letter like "X" in the name would be worth it. Instead, we get a better movie at a time when "good" is unacceptable.
Vin Diesel returns as gangster and action hero Dominic Toretto. His friends Roman (Tyrese Gibson), Tej (Chris "Ludacris" Bridges), Khan (Sang Kang) and Ramsay (Nathalie Emmanuel) are on a mission to Rome, but Roman will try to let him lead. is survived by wife Letty (Michelle Rodriguez), sister Mia (Jordana Brewster) and son "Little B" (Leo Abelo Perry). His Abuelita (Rita Moreno) also comes to see everyone in a mission that should be pretty safe.
Things don't stay safe for long. Cypher (Charlize Theron), the main villain of the eighth and ninth films, goes to the Toretto house to inform Eve of a new threat to her friends and family. Dante Reyes (Jason Momoa), son of fifth film villain Hernan Reyes (Joaquim de Almeida), wants Dom and his entire family to grieve for his role in the death of Dom's father. street.
Q arrives in Rome to try and stop Dominic and Letty Reyes from using the team to blow up the Vatican. Oh, and the unnamed secret agency that used to work for Dom is shunned and treated as an enemy, though new director Ames (Alan Ritchson), agent Little Nobody (Scott Eastwood), and new character Tess (Brie Larson) they support it. . help where they can.
Subsequent storylines include Dom's journey to Brazil to confront Reyes, led by Roman and with the help of Isabelle (Daniela Melchior), a local street racer on the run from the outlaws of Rome, with Deckard Shaw (Jason) as his only ally by Little. Staham). ). Bea escapes her captors with the help of her uncle Jacob (John Cena), while Letty and Cypher are imprisoned in an Antarctic prison in a shocking appearance aboard a lifeboat submarine.
Or at least this episode would be great if the show didn't repeat the same thing twice. I hope the future release is as "shocking" as the "shocking" based on this movie.
So what does the tenth Fast and Furious movie do to break the franchise's double-digit record? Introducing Momoa as the new villain definitely helps. Slate, as dangerous as she is, can't keep up with her wits, keeping her distance and knowing that the male leads of this franchise are too brave to shoot her. An incredibly happy Momoa does enough to keep the lead in the former, but not the latter. I look forward to a big physical fight between her and Dom in a future episode.
This brings me to my big problem with Fast X. It's very difficult to build for the next chapter without a lot of personality. The action scenes may live up to all the physics-defying shots you've come to expect from these films, but I knew they'd be a big cliffhanger rather than a thrilling climax.
Add to that the fact that the film never pushes the envelope when it comes to action (Roman and Tej went to space in the last film, Jacob and Little B are out of place here) and you have an underwhelming and underwhelming collection. characters and stories. summer blockbuster If my interest is fueled by the engine, this series spills over into the last three films, and that's it.
