The 10 Greatest SciFi Horror Movies Of All Time
© Courtesy of MovieWebSci-fi and horror are often thought of as separate genres, but plenty of classic films attest that the two go together surprisingly well. This is a horror film in which deadly robots, aliens and other terrifying man-made creatures occupy a space normally reserved for ghosts and demons. These horror films look to the future, but they also look to new and unseen dangers, often on a global scale, that may one day affect humanity.
Experiments often go wrong, or scientific research is carried out at enormous expense. There are occasional traditional monsters, but their existence stems from distortions of science, not the supernatural. For example, zombies can be the result of serums, chemicals and cybernetics. Some split the difference. Ghosts may exist, but they have cars. However, in stories with a touch of science fiction, the real horror is not the monsters, but often human arrogance.
Drugs for Health (2017)
The Healing Remedy is a horror film inspired by the 1924 novel Magic Mountain by Thomas Mann. Lockhart, a young executive, is assigned to find CEO Roland Pembroke for a health resort in the Swiss Alps. Things were already looking grim when employees refused to let Lockhart talk to the CEO. However, when he tries to walk, he gets into an accident and gets casted at the spa.
According to one story, the center was built over an ancient castle where a baron performed dark rituals and even sacrificed local farmers in search of a pure-blood heir. Lockhart soon discovers that such experiments are not just a thing of the past, as the staff develop an unnatural method of life extension that filters through the human body. It turns out that the creepy baron is still around.
Body Thief Invasion (1956)
Invasion of the Body Snatchers is a 1956 black-and-white film noir based on the novel The Body Snatchers . A man imprisoned in a Los Angeles hospital told the story in his memoir. The city of Santa Mira is full of people claiming that their loved ones have been replaced by scammers. Miles Bennell attributes this to mass madness.
However, Bennell soon realized they were right: the humans were replaced by doppelganger aliens growing from pods. Fighting them won't be easy, as any of Benello's allies can be replaced unnoticed. As the story draws to a close, Bennell manages to convince the authorities of what really happened. Even so, the world might not be able to deal with humans as a group. After all, even the public may not be safe.
Bones (1997)
The Cube is a famous 1997 film with a surreal cube-shaped setting. Five people, each with different abilities, find themselves in such a room, not remembering how they got there. There are other rooms, but entering them can result in instant death from anything from acid to dice.
As they try to figure out their situation and the purpose of the room, the characters quickly realize they're not alone. However, this man, Kazan, could be the key to developing an escape plan. In fact, the real danger to the story may already be within the group.

Cabin in the Woods (2011)
Cabin in the Woods is a 2011 film that offers more of a comedic take on the sci-fi horror genre. The plot begins with five friends going to a comfortable cabin for a short vacation. However, the cockpit is controlled by engineers in a hidden laboratory, forcing the characters to recreate typical horror films.
This goes as far as mentally manipulating the characters to act more like the typical horror movie victims: the jerk, the scientist, the jock, the first and last girl. No one but the last girl has a chance to survive, and even then it's not guaranteed. However, the engineers weren't really in control of the situation. The dark ritual that occurs is one of many performed to appease the beings known as "Epochs" and protect humanity.
The Fly (1958)
"The Fly" is a 1958 film based on the story of the same name. Scientist Andre Delambre is found dead in Montreal, and his wife admits to the crime but keeps her motives secret. Lastly, the story is told in flashback: Andre is working on developing a superfluous material set. Once, after constructing a contraption large enough to accommodate a human being, he locked himself in, hid his head and arms under a cloth and refused to use verbal communication. Turns out there was a fly on the device while testing Andre. Not only had he turned into a human-insect hybrid, but his instinct for flight had gradually taken over his mind. The only possible hope is to find the fly that reverses the process.
The Fly is especially famous for the scene at the end. Ellen is vindicated when they find a fly with a human head, as the random fly has undergone a gruesome transformation of its own. The poor hybrid insect gets caught in the web and screams for help as the spider is about to feast.
Revival (1985)
Re-Animator is a 1985 comedy-horror film based on H. P. Lovecraft's novel The Re-Animator by Herbert West . Medical student Dan Kane rented the room from Herbert West, who claims to have found a way to revive dead tissue and even bring cats back to life. When attempts to share these findings with the university only result in Cain and West being expelled, the two sneak out to revive the corpse and prove themselves. Unfortunately, the corpse turns into a zombie, killing the employee, who is also reborn as one of the undead.
The more lives taken and respawned, it turns out that the zombies are not so defenseless. You develop the ability to control other corpses. In the end, when the rules of life and death were confused, even the heroes found out that the death of these zombies was not the worst fate that awaited them.
Hal (1982)
The Thing is an adaptation of Who's Going There? John W. Campbell. , taking place at a research camp in Antarctica in 1982. 12 people from the American camp learn that a nearby Norwegian base has been destroyed and filled with corpses. After encountering an alien spaceship, the Americans soon learn that deadly aliens are on the loose.
Computer simulations show that the aliens can change shape and absorb their victims. This means that the alien known as the Thing could be one of the commoner's disguises. The paranoia that will grow in men can be as dangerous as this.

Godzilla (1954)
Godzilla is not only one of the most famous kaiju or "giant monster" movies, it is often considered one of the first. A mysterious light destroys a fishing boat. The same fate soon befell other similar ships, which inspired journalists to investigate this story. The village elders fear Godzilla, the god of the island, is behind it.
Shortly thereafter, villagers saw a giant dinosaur-like creature, believed to be 15 meters tall, threatening their homes and lives. The monster, soon known as Godzilla, survived the hydrogen bomb test and wants revenge on mankind. Sacrifices may be required to defeat the monster and stop the destruction, but as the end draws near, there are fears that another monster may soon appear.
Frankenstein (1931)
Frankenstein is a 1931 film based on the classic 1818 novel by Mary Shelley, which was heavily influenced by the stage version. In particular, Shelley's book is considered one of the first science fiction novels, as well as one of the first science fiction horror stories. Henry Frankenstein, with the help of his assistant Fritz, is obsessed with one desire: to create life.
To do this, they would collect parts from human corpses and revive them with electricity. The creatures born from Frankenstein's experiments at first appear to behave like innocent children. However, soon after escaping, the monster proves to be dangerous. Shortly thereafter, the townspeople are invited to grab torches and pitchforks to hunt down the monster, led by Frankenstein himself.
Aliens (1979)
Aliens is a 1979 film set in 2122. Aboard the USCSS Nostromo spacecraft, the crew receives a distress signal from a mysterious moon. There, a crew member is attacked by an alien that attaches itself to the victim's face, trapping them in a coma. An alien emerges from a crew member's chest and transforms into a threatening monster, the Xenomorph, aboard the ship. Your goal is to destroy the remaining crew members one by one.
To make matters worse, the company that owns Nostromo wants aliens, has implanted robotic moles to do its bidding, and renders the crew members useless. In the end, the lone survivor may have to fight a dangerous Xenomorph.
