The House of Mouse streaming service is more like a mansion fit for a herd of elephants. Disney Plus boasts a massive library of titles spanning the last century, produced by many of the company's brands, including Marvel, Lucasfilm, and Pixar.
Disney Plus is a must for families as it offers animated classics that kids love as well as comedy and drama for adults. Finding a Disney Plus movie can be tedious as you can browse through dozens of titles for a while.
Luckily, Rotten Tomatoes (opens in a new tab) can help with some tips. Review Aggregator publishes film scores based on what critics and viewers say. If you're looking for quality movies, you can watch certified "fresh" movies, which means at least 60% of the reviews are positive.
For more choice, you can watch a movie with a 90% rating or higher, essentially an A rating. There are seven Disney Plus movies that have achieved this.
Black Panther
Black Panther was Marvel's first film with a Black director and a predominantly Black cast, directed by the great Chadwick Boseman and starring Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong'o, Angela Bassett, Danai Gurira and Winston Duke. The film celebrated African culture and the possibilities of its future through its portrayal of a technologically advanced Wakanda.
Boseman himself received rave reviews for the regal charm and humanity he exuded as T'Challa, the heir to the throne of Wakanda. Unsurprisingly, Black Panther was the first Marvel film to win an Academy Award, including a Best Picture nomination. It's a good time to watch (or re-watch) this movie because Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is out on November 11th.

Day of the Dead in Mexico is a joyful celebration of deceased family members. Vacation is a Pixar film about 12-year-old Miguel's amazing journey.
Despite his family's music ban, Miguel secretly wants to play and sing. Miguel plays his deceased idol's vintage guitar and is suddenly transported to the land of the dead. To return, he must find and receive his great-grandfather's blessing. Along the way, he uncovers old family secrets that explain why his family hates music. Perhaps, with the help of his ancestors, he can heal old wounds.

Hamilton
This medley brings the acclaimed Broadway musical Hamilton from stage to screen. Lin-Manuel Miranda has created great songs steeped in history and influenced by hip-hop. A fantastic cast led by Miranda as Founding Father and Leslie Odom Jr., his rival Aaron Burr, brings it to life.
We firmly believe that Hamilton is more than just recording a stage performance. Director Thomas Kail used several shots of live performances in front of an audience, as well as shots shot without an audience for close-ups. The result is a beautiful, funny and moving film.

Yes, there are (a few) R-rated movies on Disney Plus, including this excellent movie that saw Hugh Jackman disguise himself as Wolverine for the last time to embody the unforgettable character from the X-Men movies. . In Logan, he is older, vainer, and losing his healing abilities. In a remote area, Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart), a patient whose dementia is dangerous to others, is cared for.
His quiet, lonely life is turned upside down by Laura (Daphne Keen), a mysterious girl who looks a lot like Logan. He's being hunted by dark forces who want to use him as a weapon, so Logan takes Laura and Javier on the run. When a clone of Logan in his prime is sent after them, things look bleak.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens
JJ Abrams had the unenviable task of launching a sequel to the trilogy of iconic Star Wars films. However, he got rid of it with The Force Awakens. It deftly combines nostalgia for the original films and beloved characters with new faces like Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega) and Poe (Oscar Isaac).
Thirty years after the defeat of the Galactic Empire in Return of the Jedi, a new threat emerges in the form of the First Order. It is directed by Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), son of Han and Leia and former apprentice of Luke Skywalker. Learning that she can use the Force, Rey confronts Kylo as the Resistance attempts to destroy a terrifying new weapon.

The source of the soul
Part concert film and part belated history lesson, Summer of Soul is relevant to an important and timely cultural moment. But it's also a blast from the past that most of us don't know about. First-time director Questlove's documentary reveals footage from another, lesser-known music festival in the summer of 1969. We've all heard a lot about Woodstock; It was a long time before I found out about the weekly concerts in Harlem Park.
dr Stevie Wonder is a joyful celebration of black culture and excellence, with absolutely divine performances from Nina Simone, BB King, Gladys Knight and the Pips, Mahalia Jackson and Mavis Staples (among many others). The Harlem Cultural Festival didn't get the recognition it deserved then, but now we can focus on that.

It turns red
Turning Red marks many firsts for Pixar: the studio's first film with solo director Domee Shi; First founded in Canada; and the first film with an Asian girl as the main character. It's also perhaps Pixar's most mature project to date, a story about puberty (and more specifically, menstruation).
A 13-year-old Chinese-Canadian girl named Mei wakes up one morning and transforms into a giant red panda. It's a family curse that occurs when you're stressed or excited. The curse can only be lifted at the next red moon, which unfortunately coincides with a concert by Mei's favorite boy band 4*Town. Turning Red brilliantly explores the almost universal desire of teenagers to break away from their parents and create their own identity.
