SYNTAX :

When a Halloween store opens in an abandoned mall, three friends decide to spend the night locked inside, thinking they've outgrown trick-or-treating. But their spooky party soon turns into a strange survival.

Technically, every movie exists to make a profit, no matter how brazen the pursuit. I also agree that customizations can come from anywhere, including board games and obscure places like Twitter, but a Halloween store? When I say no reason Spirit Halloween. The Movie existence, I mean it.

The spirit of Halloween. The film is about a group of three boys who graduate high school and can't deal with anything resembling the behavior of today's teenagers. This is due not only to the established family approach. This film lives in a horror vacuum that would scare even small children, let alone the children here.

Lots of forced family drama and broken friendships drive the plot. Jake (Donovan Colan) wants to go to the party, but the slightly crazy (term used loosely) Carson (Dylan Martin Frankel) insists they're breaking tradition and encourages them to go to the party instead. Bo (Jaden J. Smith) is the most organized of the trio, but is afraid to be on Carson's side.

Halloween is a very personal holiday for Jake, especially since his father recently died of cancer. It's safe to assume they've had plenty of creepy nights together, which certainly made it hard for Jake to turn down jokes or food. She's also angry that her little sister Joan (Billie Roy) decorated the yard with princess decorations instead of something scary. It also means that when her mother (Rachel Lee Cook) offers to treat her sister to candy, she rejects the idea because of the kind of bonding that would be a useful tool for dealing with grief. . . trick or treating.

You're probably wondering what the Spirit Halloween store has to do with all of this. Well, Jake convinces Carson that instead of going to a party, they go to an abandoned Spirit Halloween store and stay there all night. And what they don't know is that thanks to Christopher Lloyd's really stupid framing device for the curse on Alex Windsor, a bunch of cheap blue spirits are wandering around in various costumes and displays, and the boys are on the run to find a ship they can own. everything. eternity.

I can't remember the last time I was in a Spirit Halloween store, but it's safe to assume that most of the people here are known from regular customers. However, I can tell you that none of this is terrible, even for the childish characters it's tasked with portraying.

At some point, the film gets tired of its structure and falls underground (the directors cannot be blamed for that). Eventually, Carson's sister Kate (Marissa Reyes) follows the boys and ends up trying to spend the night, where Jake also falls in love. The movie tries to be funny, but at one point it's embarrassing, relying on a hilarious joke.

Spirit of Halloween. The movie is based on the good idea of a sad kid who tries to grow up and find a positive and profitable way to give out candy every year, but before you read this review you know that directors David Pogue and Billy Bates are interested in exploring these characters. no This is a glorified Spirit Halloween commercial and doesn't deserve to be called a movie. The only place this movie has to sell is the spirit of Halloween, but it's worth your soul to buy it.
