Summary :

After the egg is stolen, a huge, bloodthirsty monster emerges from the lake and unleashes its wrath on the townspeople, leaving a trail of destruction and death. Now isolated from the outside world, the city of Bueng Can must ask its officials and citizens, as well as a group of scientists, to conduct research in the city to hunt down this predator before it's too late.

"Monster" movies are lacking on some obscure cable channel. It would take a unique Kaiju to top the box office dominance of Spielberg's Dinos, Toho or Cooper's Titans and Wallace's Kong. From the Lake won't disparage any of those iconic cinematic giants, but it's clearly a work born of the enormous footprint left by those influences, and as a result, a film that rarely lives up to its enjoyable elements.

Completely abandoning the slow-burn build-up that underpins his best monster movies, like Spielberg's Jaws or even Gareth Edwards' 2014 Godzilla , Lake comes out on top when it comes to exposition. The Beast There's no half-assed tentacles or flashy glamour, directors Lee Tongham and Aking Xu have decided to put as much of the monster on screen as their budget allows, meaning we get a top-to-bottom view of the screen. Opening minutes. This was an odd decision due to financial constraints, as later scenes were shot in a way that obscured the creature but matched the surface level of the film.

So it's clear that this will be a story full of what you see. The dad numbers are taken from the well-worn Disaster Movies 101 page, and you can add tough cops; Ordinary people know that what happened was wrong. a brother-sister dynamic, one of whom suffers from the same disease as Sharlto Copley's District 9 crab; And then there are the beautiful children. He will always be a handsome boy.

They then launch into a series of scenes that seem straight out of another movie, all set to a soundtrack of impending doom .

Then we get a violent attack through a swamp that hides the action to hide the CGI flaws. At this point, it's worth noting that there are many versions of the creature in the lake, so there are several variations on the form of Godzilla depicted on the poster. The attack is led by a Del Toro-esque hellhound, the Demogorgon, who picks people up as they flee. This is very effective in that the film has little room for character development beyond a series of attacks and recognizable archetypal behaviors.

Whether it's a car chase in a scene like the Ford Explorer chase in Spielberg's original Jurassic Park , or a rain-drenched "action" scene, the bigger creature is front and center more impressive. …..erm…..Ford Explorer Attack…..I think…..Spielberg's original Jurassic Park . The fact is, both are perfect, which makes you want to try something a little more original with the tools you have. From movement to animal appearance.

Finally , the lake looked like something out of a child's imagination, like two stuffed toy dinosaurs. Climate change, ecological disaster and monster of the week, filtered through the lens of someone who has seen Jurassic Park and The Host a million times. All of those elements make for a unique and subtle monstrous mess, but there's so much more.
