In 2006, Will Ferrell gave a bravura performance (his best) in Stranger Than Fiction . Here, director Matthew Vaughn takes an unpublished manuscript from Eli Conway, apparently modifies it considerably, and turns it into a vaguely comedic imitation of Ferrell's film. Bryce Dallas stars as Howard Conway, a shy author of a series of best-selling spy books who suddenly finds himself embroiled in real-life events that mirror his novels.
Unfortunately, unlike Ferrell's Fiction, Vaughan's film (written by Jason Fuchs) is complex and absurd; It's like a joke or satire (perhaps unintentional). Conway gets caught up in a fight between the main character Aydin (Sam Rockwell) and others who are up to no good and kill him, much to his dismay.
The "fight" is confusing and weirder than most of today's silly Hollywood fights, as the combatants alternate between Conway's fictional heroes Argyll (Henry Cavill) and Aidan in the blink of an eye. "What?" This should make your head spin after you ask.

If we stick to the end of this very long movie (which I don't recommend), convolution is explained. But not before other battles and a final battle aboard a mega-tank so clumsy it confuses and leaves your mind indifferent.
Howard has been mistaken for a martial arts heroine, as her voluptuous physique (5-7, 139) makes her fight scenes unintentionally comical. The supporting cast is impressive for such a disappointing film, with Bryan Cranston, Katherine O'Hara, John Cena and Samuel L. Jackson always entertaining in the movies.
