“Trailers (also known as previews or teasers) were essentially commercial advertisements for a feature film that was later shown in theatres/cinemas. It is a product of creativity and technical work... The trailer consists of selected frames from ad films.
Because [these commercials] are meant to draw viewers into the movie, these clips are usually taken from the most interesting, funniest, or notable parts of the movie, but in short form and usually without spoilers.
For this, the scenes do not have to be placed in the order they appear in the picture. [Such advertisements] must reach the maximum length permitted by the CTF of less than 2 minutes and 30 seconds. Each studio or distributor reserves the right to extend this period once a year if deemed necessary for a particular film.
There are dozens of companies in the United States, many in Los Angeles and New York, that specialize in making movie trailers. The trailer may be produced at an agency (such as The Cimarron Group, Mojo, The Ant Farm, Ben Cain, Aspect Ratio, Flyer Entertainment, Trailer Park, Buddha Jones) and the film itself assembled at the studio.
Since edited films are not available now, trailer editors work in haste or from dailies. Therefore, the trailer may contain footage that is not in the final film, or the trailer editor and the film editor may use certain footage differently. Another common approach is to include music in the trailer that is not on the film's soundtrack.
This is almost always necessary because trailers and teasers are created long before the composer is hired to score the film - sometimes a year before the film's release date - when the composer is usually the last creative person to work on it. the film
The trailer tells the story of the film very succinctly for maximum appeal. Since the decade film marketing has become a major industry, trailers have evolved as a promotional tool that can show even a weak film in an attractive light.
The main objective of making a trailer is to tell an exciting story that will engage the audience emotionally.
Most trailers have a three-act structure like a feature film. They begin at the beginning (Act 1), which forms the basis of the story. The middle part (act 2) continues the story and usually ends with a dramatic climax.
Act 3 usually has a strong "signature score" (either an easily recognizable song or a strong large orchestral part). This final act is often a visual montage of powerful and emotional moments in the film, and if a big star can help sell a film, so can the actors.
