With a compelling story and one of Ben Affleck's strongest performances in the genre, it's perfect for gore lovers.
On Rotten Tomatoes , critics were disappointed with The Accountant's rambling narrative, ridiculous plot twists, and what they said was a questionable portrayal of autism in the action film's title character. However, the audiences were much more forgiving , Affleck's character and performance are interesting and the action is surprisingly entertaining and well acted. Although Michael Bay is not exactly known for the high quality of his work, he is undoubtedly one of the most highly regarded directors in the action genre. It shows an attack on an American compound in Libya, where a security team tries to explain the chaos.
Those who love explosive war thrillers will undoubtedly find 13 Hours one of the most underrated war films of recent years. Critics did not appreciate the cartoonish tone with which Bay approached the painful subject , or his lack of subtlety and historical accuracy . However, audiences looked further and found Bay's keen attention to the characters and their personalities to be highly effective and provided the basis for technically impressive action.

7 The Next Three Days (2010)

In Paul Haggis' psychological thriller The Next Three Days, Elizabeth Banks and Russell Crowe play a married couple whose lives are turned upside down when they are accused of murder. What follows is a thrilling thrill-fest that is fully aware of the ridiculousness of its implausible story and does its best to make the most of it.
Critics praised the performances of Banks and Crowe and the fact that they managed to at least make the suspension of disbelief believable (keyword: almost) . However, audiences don't seem to care enough to make a clear separation between their opinions and critics' opinions. Fans loved the dramatization of the justice system's flaws and thought its story was filled with enough compelling mysteries to make anyone's heart skip a beat.

6 Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (2006)

Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean franchise may have lost popularity since it first took the world by storm, but it's still one of the most underrated sequels Hollywood has produced in recent memory. Gore Verbinski's Dead Man's Chest , the first sequel to the 2003 original, took a darker, more epic approach to the material. The focus is on Johnny Depp's Jack Sparrow, who tries to win the heart of an immortal villain so as not to enslave his soul in the service of a sailor.
Duplicates the beautiful move taken by The Curse of the Black Pearl After such success , "Dead Man's Chest" found a solid niche among pirate movie and unconventional fantasy fans. On IMDb they like the film for its vivid characterization and fun fight sequences . Although they agreed that the film's story was nothing special and became increasingly absurd as it progressed, culminating in a rather gruesome ending, IMDb critics found Law Abiding Citizen interesting enough to pass up . Although they called the film atmospheric and exciting, critics felt that Enemy at the Gate's collection of bland war films , including a rather unsentimental love story, was uninspired and detrimental to the material . Those looking for a World War II film with a good depiction of the conflict should be satisfied with Enemy at the Gates , but those with different tastes may agree with the critics.

3 Die Hard: With a Vengeance (1995)

Hard to top the original Die Hard , it is considered one of the most accomplished action films ever made. These inevitable sequels were of varying quality, and many believed that Die Hard 2 was too similar to the original to be truly different. So John McTiernan's Die Hard: With a Vengeance took a completely different turn, putting protagonist John McClane in a race against time as he works with a Harlem store owner to stop a German terrorist from attacking the Federal Reserve rob.
The third part of the series has a story full of exciting scenes and an extremely dangerous villain, with the addition of a mystery thriller and even a buddy comedy ( with Samuel L. Jackson, who plays the other side of Bruce Willis ' coin , perfectly charming ). Underrated nineties movies. While IMDb audiences seemed to appreciate what Die Hard did differently from its predecessors , critics found it too shallow and too streamlined .

IMDb critics praised the film about an elite gang in the Brazilian underworld and even drew comparisons with the famous Oscar-nominated masterpiece City of God . They like the fact that the story is full of energy and violent action, which Rotten Tomatoes did not associate. Critics objected to the pointlessness of the voice acting and called the excessive action gratuitous , proving that audiences and critics are not always looking for the same thing when approaching an action film.
