MOVIE REVIEW: We Make Light Work Of Netflix's Horrorcomedy 'The Conference'
The Swedish horror-comedy "The Conference" perfectly combines both genres.
As in the 2006 British film Severance , a team-building conference for city employees turns into a nightmare when a mysterious figure begins killing its participants.
Helmsman Patrick Eklund and his co-writers have fun with the game's cast, wisely including a range of likeable and villainous characters you'd want to see on the wrong end of the damn gun.

The killer uses a variety of tools and objects to destroy his victims in a dark, earth-colored setting.
During a series of murders, a lot of blood and organs are discovered that would make Jason Voorhees or Michael Myers jealous.
Eklund often includes sudden scene transitions and sound effects to heighten the sense of dread.
The group didn't just sit back and accept their fate. Overall, this is a brave bunch, and it's fun and surprising to see the older characters rise to power and kick ass.
The cast and script do a good job of portraying a team at odds with each other when it comes to beliefs and morals, but also convey the mundanity of most working holidays.
Adam Lundgren plays the team's egotistical leader Jonas in a goofy manner that gives him more charm than he deserves, while Katya Winter's Lena supports her fight to become the ultimate horror girl.
Klaas Hartelius ( Torbjörn ) and Eva Melander ( Eva ) were very funny and felt like real people, Maria Zeid ( Ingela ) did a great job organizing the trip and trying to keep the team on the same page. and Cecilia Nilsson Annette gave their thoughts - a clear and prophetic statement about the company's ethics when it comes to knitting.
As I often say about foreign films: don't let the subtitles fool you. If you put in the effort, you'll be rewarded with incredibly brutal carnage that will force you to show up sick to your next business meeting.
