There's a Mario movie on the way, and it looks good.
We've got several trailers that show off some great footage and also reassure fans that any fears of Chris Pratt voicing Mario himself may be unfounded.

Super Mario Bros. Movie Release Date
We have an exact release date for the Mario movie. After an initial delay, Nintendo has confirmed that it will hit US theaters on April 7, 2023 .
You can tell that the movie is about to be released because it has been unveiled with a full poster featuring various characters and locations, as can be seen below.

The first trailer was released online on October 6, 2022 as part of a special Nintendo Direct presentation. You can see it below.
In late 2022, we got a closer look at the movie in the form of a full trailer, which we've posted below.
It gives us a closer look at the world Mario will be in, including our first encounters with Anya Taylor-Joy, the voice of Princess Peach, and Charlie Day's Luigi.
We also get to see a bit of Donkey Kong during the filming of Mario, and it looks like the popular kart spin-off Mario Kart is also seen.
Back at The Game Awards in December 2022, we watched a scene from the movie where we saw Toad lead Mario through the Mushroom Kingdom to Peach's Castle.
It looks amazing and invites you to enjoy a part of the movie, which means it will use some of the iconic music from the game.
Another small clip from the movie hit Twitter in late January 2023, giving us our first chance to hear Seth Rogen's take on Donkey Kong as he shoots Mario around the arena.
A funny joke appeared at the Super Bowl in February 2023: the previously maligned Mario Rap, reimagined with a modern twist.

Super Mario Bros. Movie Plot
The plot of the film is still up in the air. For the first time in the published trailers, we can see plumber Mario arriving in the Mushroom Kingdom.
We also see Bowser collecting superstars, so it could be a race to find them all.
From the longer trailer, it appears that Mario usually helps the kingdom unite against Bowser, although Princess Peach seems less of a damsel in distress this time around.
Instead, he plays an active role in supporting characters such as Luigi and Donkey Kong.
It also looks like we'll get at least one episode hinting at Mario's side-scrolling platforming days when he's wearing his tanuki suit and fire flowers.
As several Mario Kart rides on the Rainbow Road are part of the full trailer in action, we wonder if this is the last act of the movie.
