Saakini Daakini Movie Review: This Adaptation Of An Acclaimed Korean Hit Is Engaging For The Most Part
Actors: Niveta Thomas, Regina Kassandra and others Director: Sudher Varma. Duration: 118 minutes.
The film is a sequel to the 2017 Korean action film Running at Midnight, featuring male leads. By conditioning, the gender changes. In response, producer Sunita Tati, one of Sakini Dakini's financiers, is currently making six more Korean films, showing signs of coming up with something new. Only time will tell if these series of remakes (to be released over the next two years) will change the creative landscape of Telugu/South Indian cinema for remaking foreign films. For now, he and producer D Suresh Babu (whose productions have the distinction of making some of the most significant films in decades) are off to a good start.
Shalini (Nivetha Thomas) and Damini (Regina Cassandra) come from two different economic and social backgrounds. The former comes from an upper middle class with more parental influence, while the latter comes from a relatively humble family. Both train Nellore Sudarshan, who has signs of kleptomania, in a police academy run by a strict officer (Bhanu Chander) and a diverse group of actors (played by Prudviraj, whose scenes with Shalini are fun to watch, RJ Hemant). . Mandatory Flirting and Raghu Babu a real buffalo).
As Shalini and Damini start getting into petty conflicts, their normal equation becomes semi-tension and pure bonding as the story progresses. In a way, this is surprising, especially since it opens after a 30-minute break in the story. One night, on their way to the police academy, they saw a teenage girl who had been kidnapped after a long party. Now the youngsters must skillfully navigate the inefficient and apathetic system to shoot the rocket and save the girl.
If some actions are criminal at the level of novelty, the taste is shared when Rocket Corner is used to collect unfertilized eggs. Moreover, the studies of Shalini-Damini fans are full of joyous, unreal and ancient coincidences, not to mention unexpected discoveries.
Comedian Satya is designed to create ambiguous lines between serious scenes. But the share class has nothing to do with such differences. It's about girls who become brave heroes in the face of bureaucratic obstacles. This theme is taken from Midnight Runners and was popularized by fans of the film when the original was released in Korea.
Mikey McCleary's songs don't fit the mold. The final montage song placed in the action block is good. On the other hand, the back seam may not be easy, but it does not add weight to what is happening. The editing by Viplav Nishadam is top notch which is a testament to the director's talent. Richard Prasad of Oh Baby fame is retiring as a cinematographer.
