Amazon Prime Puts 72Hour Moratorium On Reviews Posted To Its Site
The new "Lord of the Rings" from Amazon Prime. Ring of Power takes place 1,000 years before Peter Jackson's famous film, which was last released 19 years ago, and eight years after the final film in the Hobbit trilogy.
So what is the 72-hour delay in reviewing a new series? This is an Amazon Prime position that is slowly rolling out a new policy to delay users viewing original content for up to three days.

Skeptics believe there may be a ploy to stop the bleeding in Rings of Power, as some of the early reviews were, shall we say, far from good.
Amazon has not officially commented on the new policy. But sources have confirmed the object, claiming it dates from the new Lord of the Rings series. According to a person familiar with the updated reviews, the 72-hour waiting period went into effect earlier this summer, but not due to the release of one particular game.
Instead, it aims to minimize trolling or offensive content, as well as verify comments from real viewers. (Bookshelf Amazon, the company's parent company, has also struggled with the "view bomb" problem for years.)
A League of Their Own, a reboot of Penny Marshall's baseball cameo, is the first title to reflect the update.
Critical reviews, with the exception of one scathing article in the UK Daily Mail, were generally positive for The Rings of Power, according to aggregators such as Rotten Tomatoes or Metacritic.
But customer reviews were overwhelmingly negative, and many purists saw the new series as a departure from JRR Tolkien's canon.
The story goes on
Like Netflix, Prime Video has removed the ratings for the screens it was filmed on. The newly revamped Prime Video interface features user ratings from IMDb for each movie or series title. As of Friday night, IMDb had a rating of 7.1 out of 10 over the previous 24 hours.
